Summary/Objective
As a Product Owner, you’ll be at the heart of our Agile development teams, defining, prioritizing, and communicating work status. You’ll bridge the gap between customer needs, company goals, and team coordination to create impactful business solutions. Your exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills will help our technical staff maximize the benefits of our IT systems investments.
This role involves significant relationship management skills along with strong business systems analysis, ensuring effective product design by analyzing detailed business needs and coordinating across departments to unify goals into a cohesive product roadmap.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and track IT project timelines, deliverables, milestones, and reporting.
- Define scope, goals, and deliverables within IT to support higher-level project plans and organizational goals.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations to communicate product expectations and status to team members and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other Technical Product Owners, project managers, business analysts, project business owners, SMEs, IT Development, QA, and vendors to ensure alignment of project deliverables and timelines.
- Proactively manage changes in technology and project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Define product success criteria and communicate them to all involved parties throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain business relationships vital to project success.
- Demonstrate an understanding of critical DevOps and Agile principles.
- Actively manage the product backlog for an Agile delivery team.
- Work with the Project Management Organization to translate business requirements into product backlog items (user stories, features, bugs, spikes, etc.).
- Create product roadmaps, communicate forecasted delivery dates to stakeholders, and manage feedback.
Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent education and experience will also be considered.
- A minimum of five years in Product Management is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions.
- Preferred experience in Financial Services and/or Insurance Services
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for tracking work items is preferred.
