Job Summary: The Production Supervisor will oversee and is responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing operations. Responsible to achieve people safety, food safety, quality, customer service, productivity, efficiency, cost, goals, and objectives both through individual and team contributions. Providing direction, leadership, development, and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on the job assignments, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Supervisor will engage operators in decision making while fostering a learning environment requiring personal accountability. A key deliverable is defining and demonstrating daily the need for continuous improvement and change necessary to deliver the business results through the pursuit of best practices and deployment of standard work. Supporting, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality practices as required ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices are followed defined by Nutrient Survival.
Duties and Responsibilities:

A week in the life of a Production Supervisor:
1. Advance initiatives promoting employee understanding and inspiring engagement with all areas of health, safety, security, and welfare of assigned employees
2. Maintain a clean environment, which is orderly, safe, and a complaint facility
3. Create, update, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
4. Responsible, initiative-taking, trustworthy by accepting pride in areas of ownership for project management resulting in progress and success
5. Assess strategies and adjust capabilities of employees, equipment, facilities, performance, procedures, and systems to enhance continuous improvement for production, and profitability
6. Conduct root cause analysis five why and implements corrective action to reduce ongoing safety occurrences year over year
7. Establish a 5S compliant workspace environment
8. Ensure all employees follow GMP’s to support production for the highest quality product
9. Effective coordination, development, training, management, and motivation of employees
10. Responsible for supervision and execution in accordance with laws, policy, and procedures in the following areas: interviewing, selection, onboarding, training, assigning work, managing performance including plans and reviews, coaching and corrective action, addressing and resolving situations
11. Meets with employees one on one to develop and maintain trust, provide feedback, coaching and hold performance discussions
12. Performs compliance and safety inspections on a routine basis
13. Recommend KPI’s at the operational level to create performance metrics to further enhance operational excellence
14. Coordinate with and between Compound Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, Procurement Manager, Research and Development Lead, Warehouse Supervisor to perform the lifecycle of operations for product development and implementation into production
15. Conducts inspections of work areas determining scope of work for assignments and materials needed
16. Supports team with daily production scheduling and assisting where needed to ensure demand and delivery of orders is continuously met
17. Determines individual performance metrics, defining time to accomplish assigned work in a safe and efficient manner
18. Enter data and complete documentation and fully utilize systems to create efficiencies and eliminate redundancy
19. Support in transitioning and validation of systems
20. Assist with the development for a one the job training program, monitor, train, and track
21. Continuous improvement
22. Coordinates maintenance activities with the production schedules for preventative maintenance and repairs ensuring production demand is met
23. Conducts cycle counts, manages, verifies, and reconciles in system to ensure accurate inventory
24. Ensures ingredients, supplies, labels, overall inventory is available and accessible each day at start of shift to create efficiency and reduce lost work time year over year
25. Coordinates ordering and daily prep work is assigned, communicated and partner with teams
26. Hold meetings with teams to train on process, safety, quality, review production plans, outline goals and objectives for continuously meeting demand and accomplish on time delivery
27. Perform other duties as assigned
Requirement and Competencies:
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, and standards
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety, sanitation i.e., HACCP, AIB, and or SQF
• Knowledge of Food Safety
• Excellent skills in communication and interpersonal relationships
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Warehouse Management Systems i.e., Microsoft Dynamics
• Proficient skills with data entry and inventory software and systems
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to review forecast data to develop resource plans to effectively meet established weekly production, training, master sanitation, and preventive maintenance schedules

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Associates degree in Business Administration or similar discipline required; bachelor’s degree preferred
Five - 7 years of related experience preferably in the Food Manufacturing Industry
Combination of education and related experience equivalent will be evaluated year for year
Forklift Certified and ability to train/certify staff on PIT equipment
