Job Title: Paralegal-Real Estate & Corporate
Reports To: Director of Administrative Services
SUMMARY
Research, investigate, and prepare documents to assist real estate and corporate attorneys.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other functions may be assigned.
- Preparing documents related to a variety of real estate, loan and construction matters, including but not limited to agreements, leases, loan documents, and basic construction contracts.
- Prepare deeds, easements, affidavits, closing certificates, entitlements, and escrow instructions.
- Assist attorneys with organization of real estate transactions.
- Proofing legal documents for accuracy and consistency.
- Work closely with attorneys supporting a broad range of real estate transactions and projects.
- Multi-tasking and prioritizing work assignments to meet deadlines.
- Organize and maintain legal files, including paper and electronic files.
- Record Deeds – electronically where possible and manual recordings.
- Assist attorneys with corporate formations, organizational documents, and filings.
- Assist lawyers with organization of documents for corporate closings.
- Manage closing schedules.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should be strong in the following areas: excellent computer skills, good communication skills, detail oriented, team player, logical thinking, problem solving, takes initiative, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and good organizational skills. Strong attendance and punctuality needed as this is an in-office position.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Paralegal certification and a minimum of five years of paralegal experience required.
