Summary:
Under minimal supervision, responsible for accurately processing payrolls for all employees, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Additional duties include reviewing pre-check calculations, identifying and correcting wage errors, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of state/local payroll tax requirements. Collaborate with Payroll Supervisor regularly to enhance payroll processes. Frequently respond to inquiries from employees at all levels. Please note, this is a full-time, in-office position in Peoria, IL.
Principal Duties Responsibilities:
• Assists with compiling payroll data, such as hours worked, garnishments, compensation and benefit changes required for bi-weekly payroll processing.
• Responds to inquiries from employees at all levels within the organization as needed
• Supports maintenance of all payroll data tracking files, process documents and detailed reporting.
• Establishes and manages all wage attachments and garnishments
• Monitors state/local payroll tax requirements and updates to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Reviews pre-check calculations to identify potential errors and makes corrections as needed to ensure payroll accuracy.
• Collaborates with the Payroll Supervisor to identify areas for potential improvements to continuously enhance processes. Applies the company's Core Values in the work environment and adheres to both company and customer safety procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:
Essential KSAs:
• Associate's degree in Accounting or Payroll related training, 10 years of experience in payroll processing (or equivalent combination) advanced knowledge of payroll best practices, wage garnishments and must have thorough knowledge of payroll tax regulations and the ability to meet tight deadlines with extreme accuracy.
• Previous experience with UltiPro/UKG preferred or variation of automated payroll systems.
• Must adhere to company policies and legal requirements regarding customer and company data protection and privacy.
• Must have the skills to read and interpret all payroll related documentation, including state, federal, and legal as it pertains to payroll processing
• Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with Payroll Supervisor on all aspects of the position to ensure a streamlined and synchronized workflow.
• Must possess the ability to perform arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Additionally, must be able to compute ratios and percentages, and apply these skills to solve problems involving variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. The employee is also required to use a telephone, frequent use of a standard keyboard, mouse, computer, printers, and occasional use of other office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 30 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit for long periods and use close and color vision.
