About the Role:
As an Inspector (CEI), you will play a crucial role in ensuring that construction projects meet all required standards and specifications. Working under the direction of the CEI Project Administrator, you’ll oversee contractor work, conduct field tests, and ensure compliance with plans and permits. Your work will directly contribute to the successful completion of complex infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise: Perform complex technical tasks including field surveying, construction layout, and engineering computations.
- Inspection & Compliance: Inspect construction work to ensure it meets contract documents and verify material quality through field samples.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough construction documentation, including reports and photos, and track site quantities with precise construction math computations.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with senior inspection staff and communicate effectively with the project team and contractors.
- Safety & Permits: Ensure permit compliance and adhere to safety standards, including those for nuclear radiation and erosion control.
Certifications & Skills Required:
- CTQP Certifications: Concrete Field Inspector Level I, Asphalt Roadway Level I, Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I.
- Specialized Skills: Preferred certifications in Pile Driving Inspection, Drilled Shaft Inspection, and IMSA Traffic Signal Inspection Level I.
- FDOT & Safety Training: FDOT Intermediate MOT, Nuclear Radiation Safety, and Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control certification.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, work in rough terrain, and endure various climate conditions.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in construction inspection, with at least 1 year focused on bridge and/or roadway construction.
- Education: High school diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Licenses: A valid driver’s license is required.
