Job Title: Professional Land Surveyor - Field Crew Chief (Hybrid)

Job Description:
Client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Professional Land Surveyor to join our team as a Field Crew Chief. This full-time hybrid position offers flexibility, allowing you to work in the field, from home, or at our office, depending on weather conditions and project readiness. On good weather days, fieldwork will be prioritized, while office and administrative tasks can be completed remotely or at the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, building surveys, and other land surveying tasks using GPS, total station equipment (both 2-man conventional and 1-man robotic).
- Develop base maps, imaging exhibits, record drawings, legal descriptions, and other surveying documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D (2021 or newer).
- Perform day-to-day field and office tasks associated with land surveying, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Work closely with the team to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, PDF software (such as Bluebeam), and local GIS/shp files for various tasks, including creating multiple types of graphics.
- Opportunity to work with drone technology for surveying exhibits, if desired.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, as recognized by the Ohio State Board of Surveyors.
- Experience in topographic surveys, land surveying, ALTA surveys, and building surveys.
- Proficiency in using GPS units and total station equipment, both 2-man and robotic.
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and document survey data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D (2021 or newer).
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, PDF software (such as Bluebeam), and local GIS/shp files.
- Passion for drone technology or interest in working with drones for surveying exhibits is a plus.
- Existing Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license from Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana is preferred but not mandatory.
Location: This position is based in the Cincinnati Metropolitan Service Area, with the most convenient office location for commuting. Remote work from non-confidential offices will be scrutinized to ensure productivity.
