The Role – IT Systems Engineer:
WeTheHobby is seeking an IT Systems Engineer, who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the company’s IT infrastructure. This role involves working closely with other IT team members to ensure that all systems meet the organization’s needs for performance, reliability, security, and scalability. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in network administration, systems administration, and a deep understanding of cloud technologies.
Our ideal candidate is well-versed in Microsoft 365/Azure, general network administration, and has familiarity with live streaming studio hardware (including A/V).
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
System Design & Implementation
- Design and deploy IT systems, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud-based services (Microsoft 365/Azure)
- Provide hands-on guidance and development for planning, analysis/traceability of user requirements, architecture traceability, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review cloud service capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations
IT Administration
- Partner with software engineering and the Development teams to provide technical troubleshooting to ensure optimized performance
- Network administration including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- System administration including Macs, PCs, and mobile devices
Live Streaming IT Support
- Live streaming studio hardware (including A/V) and software development, configuration, and maintenance
Active Directory Management
- Maintain user and user permissions for all functions, and internet services, access, and permissions for approved users
- Maintain Office 365 system for company communications
- Maintain asset lists, network system & system administration logs, disaster recovery, and contingency plans
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, required
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus
- 5+ years of professional experience with IT systems engineering, required
- 5+ years of administrative experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), required
- Hands-on experience with server and network administration, virtualization, and cloud technologies
- High level of organization; strong attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment with complete ownership
- Experience with code quality, continuous delivery, and automated testing.
- Comfortable working in an agile environment and challenging yourself and your team to improve their ways of working
In accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, the anticipated annual salary range for this position based upon location in Rochester, NY, and experience is $80k - $120k annually.
