Our practice consists of 3 full time and 3 per diem pathologists, and covers a wide area throughout Northern Nevada and Northeastern California. The laboratory receives a wide variety of hematopathology and solid tumor cases, as well as biopsies, including head & neck, GYN, breast, lung, GI, GU, derm specimens, etc.
With a population of over 235,000, Reno is the largest city in Northern Nevada and boasts a rich history. We are nestled on the eastern slope of the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains in an area called the Truckee Meadows, at an elevation of 4505 feet. Reno has a proud and strong community, supporting local farmers, small business owners, and one another.

Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Days: Monday - Friday (No weekends, call or holidays)
Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
Full-time: Benefit Eligible
In this role, you will:
- Perform a vital part of the patient care process through preparation, gross description, and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens
- Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
- Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
- Champion safety, compliance, and quality control
All you need is:
- Bachelor of Science or Masters Pathologists' Assistant program from a NCCLS accredited institution
- 1 year of laboratory experience grossing all tissue types from simple to complex is preferred
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists BOC
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, microscopes, and audible alarms.
