Cleveland Montessori has an immediate opening for a Primary Classroom assistant, working with preschool through Kindergarten students. The candidate will work closely with a trained Montessori teacher to create an environment of respect for each child. Classroom management, an understanding of child development and strong communication skills are essential in this position. Responsibilities will include supporting the lead teacher, maintaining the classroom environment, guiding students to purposeful activity, and supervision in the classroom as well as recess, lunch and nap times. Priority consideration will be given to candidates with previous experience in a Montessori setting. Montessori Assistant Training will be required of all newly hired employees.
The school operates on an academic year calendar (August – May) with additional summer hours available.
Cleveland Montessori is a small, private school serving preschool through eighth grade located in the heart of Little Italy. The school incorporates the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Catholic based religious program, at all levels. Students utilize the historic neighborhood of Little Italy as well as the culturally rich University Circle area as extensions of classroom learning. Service work, micro-economy and environmental studies are regularly integrated into the curriculum.
