Position Description:
The role of the Scheduling Manager is to provide overall scheduling support and technical direction for projects in the Civil & Utility, act as a BOND Champion supporting project teams with construction efforts, support the business development efforts on project proposals, assist in the scheduling support for all project claims, and assist and audit ongoing projects for compliance to scheduling standards.
Core Responsibilities – Immediate
❖ Refine and maintain scheduling standards and revise as necessary to remain current with industry best practices and company initiatives for operational excellence
❖ Develop training program for Project Team member that focuses on scheduling best practices and for using schedules as a management tool.
❖ Work collaboratively with the Civil and Utility pursuit, proposal and estimating team(s) to create proposal-level schedules for pursuits and RFPs and perform schedule development and management on a project-by-project basis.
❖ Manage technical components of schedule and provide guidance to project teams on project schedule updates, requisition development, claims management
❖ Maintenance of the EPS structure within P6.
❖ Assess current practices and collaborate with leadership on development tools to enhance BOND’s scheduling initiative
❖ Assess organizational scheduling requirements, how and when consultants are procured and manage accordingly.
Core Responsibilities – Future State
❖ Oversee scheduling department to include assisting regional leadership teams and providing them with support and guidance as needed on projects
❖ Manage BOND’s regional schedulers (scheduling department) and outside consultants to effectively and efficiently balance the workload
❖ Train employees in current scheduling standards and best practices to ensure consistent schedule creation and management across the division
❖ Oversee and provide schedule training
❖ Provide a scheduling database of representative projects; develop and update standardized templates for different project types
❖ Implement cost-loaded and resource-loaded schedules
❖ Provide support to teams by analyzing schedule and incorporating any impacts
❖ Champion and promote the use of principles, processes, and tools company-wide
❖ Mentor and assist project teams as they implement tools, principles, and practices
Qualifications:
❖ B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. Extensive project experience may be substituted for degree.
❖ Expert in Oracle/Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project software
❖ Broad construction experience and technical skills
❖ Demonstrated management of large high-risk projects or multiple projects
❖ Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven client relationship skills.
❖ The ability to implement, analyze and explain the Critical Path Method. Needs to know proper use of durations, scheduling logic, lags, float, constraints, etc. that drive critical path
❖ Knowledge of calendars and code structures
❖ Knows what to ask and how to ask for creation of schedule and subsequent updates
❖ Capable of using the schedule as a requisition tool
❖ The ability to understand and sequence work in the most efficient manner
❖ Solid communication and presentation skills
