Pioneer Healthcare Services is seeking a committed Teacher of the Visual Impaired to join our team in Calabasas, CA for the 2024 - 2025 school year with the possibility to extend. Experienced and new-grad Visual Impaired Teachers are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities of a Teacher of the Visual Impaired:
• Assessment and Planning: Assess students' visual abilities and create personalized education plans (IEPs).
• Adapted Instruction: Modify curriculum and teaching methods for accessibility, using braille, large print, and other formats.
• Direct Teaching: Teach academic subjects and daily living skills tailored to each student's needs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other educators and specialists to ensure an inclusive learning environment.
• Advocacy and Support: Advocate for students' educational needs and provide resources for families.
• Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices and technologies for teaching visually impaired students.
• Technology Use: Introduce and support the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
• Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress and communicate with stakeholders about achievements and challenges.
• Grade level Pre K - 12 High School

Weekly Gross Pay Range
$1692.77 - $1745.12
