The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Scheduler to develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules for large and complex construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of scheduling best practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work closely with project management teams to ensure project timelines are met. This role is critical in coordinating and integrating various construction phases, ensuring all activities align with project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and update comprehensive construction project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to gather information for accurate schedule creation and updates.
- Analyze schedule data to identify potential risks, delays, and critical path activities, providing solutions to maintain project timelines.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, preparing regular reports and updates for stakeholders.
- Integrate all aspects of construction, including design, procurement, subcontractor schedules, and owner activities, into a master project schedule.
- Conduct regular reviews of schedules to ensure accuracy and identify any deviations from the plan.
- Assist in the development of recovery plans for any schedule delays and ensure prompt implementation.
- Communicate schedule impacts and adjustments with project teams and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Manage the submission and approval process for schedule-related documentation, including progress updates, extensions of time, and change orders.
- Facilitate scheduling meetings and provide project leadership with visibility on critical milestones and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment between the schedule and field activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction scheduling for large-scale, complex projects, including high-rise buildings, data centers, industrial facilities, or infrastructure projects.
- Proficient in scheduling software, such as Primavera P6 (preferred) and MS Project.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, critical path method (CPM), and schedule development techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, conflicts, and potential impacts on the project timeline.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering solutions to maintain project timelines.
- Familiarity with earned value management, resource loading, and delay analysis.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Certifications:
- PMP or similar project management certification (preferred).
- Certification in scheduling (PSP or equivalent) is a plus.
- OSHA 30 certification (a plus).
