We are seeking an Attorney to join our Elder Law, Estate Planning and Estate Administration practice groups. This position provides a unique opportunity for an attorney who is looking to continue to develop and grow professionally, as well as be a key member of a prestigious law firm.
In addition, this position can offer future equity ownership for the right candidate.
This is a full on-site position located in Melville, NY.

Responsibilities
- Advise clients on all aspects of Elder Law/Medicaid planning and Estate planning
- Prepare and advise clients on Elder Law/Estate Planning documents such as advance directives, Wills, Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts
- Prepare and file Medicaid home care/nursing home care applications and Pooled Trust applications
- Provide sophisticated legal analysis and arrive at practical solutions for clients
- Meet regularly and communicate effectively with clients
Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years of practice experience in Elder Law and Estate Planning is required; experience in Estate and Trust administration is a plus
- Strong knowledge of laws related to Elder Law, Medicaid, Trust & Estates, Estate Planning, Estate and Trust administration
- Excellent interpersonal skills and empathetic to clients with the ability to assess client needs and help people solve challenging life problems
- Strong work ethic with high personal standards for both quality and quantity of work
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess a collaborative attitude with the ability to work well with others, including colleagues , support staff and others
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs, Hot Docs and internet-based legal databases and comfort with learning new software
