The QA Manager is an essential position in accomplishing this goal. The QA Manager is responsible for overall implementation and execution of the facility food safety and quality program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Lead, coach and mentor the FSQA team.
• Prepares and monitors compliance to Budget.
• Sets department goals and expectation and holds department accountable.
• Leads in achieving and improving facility performance in food safety and quality key performance indicators.
• Maintains a working knowledge of relevant government and industry standards.
• Collaborate with peers and actively participate as a leader with all aspects of the food safety and quality systems.
• Collaborates with customers and maintains open communication and productive working relationships.
• Oversees the creation and maintenance of plant HACCP and FDA Food Safety Plans
• Responsible for the preparation and successful completion of customer, regulatory, and other third-party audits
• Oversees the creation and implementation of the environmental monitoring plan
• Manages the customer complaint process
• Leads cross-functional root cause analysis investigations
• Reviews data and prepares reports related to food safety and quality.
Education & Experience:
• 7-10 Years of QA experience with a preference for food production including supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related discipline preferred
• HACCP certified with proven experience creating and maintaining HACCP plans
• Experience with various FDA FSMA regulations
• Experience with GFSI programs and expectations
• Strong field knowledge of current software and process technology.
• Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. Proficient in basic computer software, such as spreadsheets, project tools, word documents and presentation programs
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks/priorities
• Strong Leadership skills and ability to create and maintain a positive work environment.
• Excellent verbal, technical written and interpersonal communication skills. An ability to break down highly technical discussion into understandable concepts for non-technical colleagues.
• Strong self-confidence, versatile and flexible with a willingness to work in a dynamic environment, adjusting to priorities with enthusiasm. Intelligence, drive, innovation, commitment and integrity are all important characteristics.
• Physical and mental ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week while helping create and work towards a Quality vision.
• Must be 18 years or older.
