Job description:
The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for reviewing drafts of annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements and regulatory forms (N-SAR, N-Q24F-2, and N-CSR) for registered investment companies. This role supports senior team members and managers by providing oversight on funds and general fund financial information, completing various projects as assigned by the Financial Administration Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Statement Review: Review drafts of annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements and forms (N-SAR, N-Q24F-2, and N-CSR) for registered investment companies. Draft and maintain timetables for such statements.
- Expense Management: Review fund expense proformas, expenses, and accruals; coordinate accrual adjustments with clients and the financial rep.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Statement Review: Review drafts of annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements and forms (N-SAR, N-Q24F-2, and N-CSR) for registered investment companies. Draft and maintain timetables for such statements.
- Expense Management: Review fund expense proformas, expenses, and accruals; coordinate accrual adjustments with clients and the financial reporting team. Review fund invoices for authorization.
- Reporting & Documentation: Work with the Fund Administration Manager on board books and procedure manuals preparation. Report and communicate performance data to fund management and industry publications.
- Regulatory Compliance: Develop and maintain a working familiarity with applicable laws, regulations, and interpretations governing financial statements and disclosure, including the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Internal Revenue Code, GAAP, Regulation S-X, and other applicable requirements. Maintain awareness of regulatory changes affecting funds.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate appropriately with the Financial Reporting Team Leader and other department members concerning all timetables, workflow, and relevant matters.
- Mentorship: Assist in reviewing work completed by junior-level staff members and contribute to the development of the Financial Administration Group in European offices.
- Systems Enhancement: Evaluate and suggest enhancements to Eagle/OMEGA (client's Fund Accounting system) to automate procedures for financial reporting and compliance purposes.
- Special Projects: Perform special projects as directed by the Financial Reporting Supervisor or Team Leader.
Required Qualifications:
Education: BA/BS degree, preferably with a business-related concentration.
