Allied Resources is looking for a Planning Engineer to perform power flow studies and effectuate the interconnection process for the transmission system. The Planning Engineer will perform analyses, conduct market evaluations, and utilize technology tools to contribute to electric transmission, on-shore and off-shore wind, and other large-scale renewable generation projects. Responsibilities:
- Assist in production cost modeling and economic and regional market assessments to provide key strategic insights and identify or validate project opportunities and solutions.
- Apply innovative approaches to simulation and analysis that can help identify or support new initiatives.
- Perform and facilitate engineering and transmission assessments and analyses, and document, present, and report findings and justifications.
- Research trends and technologies in electric transmission, on-shore and off-shore wind, other large-scale renewable generation, energy storage, conventional generation and emerging technologies such as green hydrogen.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Transmission Planning experience
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Mathematics, or related technical field
- Experience with technology software PSS/E, TARA, Aspen, PowerWorld, or PSCAD.
