IPC Publishing Group (I-Connect007), a subsidiary of IPC International, Inc., is looking to hire a JUNIOR Magazine Layout Designer. We are searching for a skilled, creative, and curious full-time magazine layout designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and designing the layout of our electronics industry trade magazines, ensuring alignment with our brand guidelines, and creating appeal that captivates our audience. Keep in mind this is a JUNIOR level role, only 2 years of experience ideally. Please apply if you are a Junior Magazine Layout Designer.
Responsibilities
- In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and designing the layout of three monthly and one quarterly magazine, typically 100-pages each.
- Collaborate with our team to understand the magazine's content and objectives.
- Organize and arrange provided content in a visually appealing and engaging manner.
- Create layouts that adhere to our brand guidelines and enhance the overall aesthetic with appeal to our audience in the electronics industry.
- Utilize your expertise in design, typography, and composition to create a captivating visual experience for readers.
- Pay meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality throughout the design process.
- Deliver completed magazines within specified deadlines, demonstrating excellent time management skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree high preferred and or 2 years of magazine layout work experience.
- Highly proficient in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop (normal workflow is output to PDF, one publication annually outputs for offset printing).
- Strong understanding of layout design principles and best practices.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to bring creativity, technical curiosity, and professionalism to magazine layouts.
- Excellent eye for design, typography, and composition.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey design concepts and ideas.
- A stable, high-speed internet connection is imperative to perform this job. A full-time permanent employee will be provided with a production-grade Apple computer; the successful applicant will be highly proficient with the latest MacOS.
