Job description: While reporting to the Associate Director, Engineering the Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for design and preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, capital authorization applications, selection of materials, equipment and services, construction management, and equipment installation for engineering projects required to expand, modify, or construct new facilities. Responsible for managing project budget, schedule, and performing jobsite inspections to ensure compliance with design is achieved. Will direct and provide engineering guidance to staff engineers, technicians, and others as required to accomplish the above responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily operation of payroll according to established written processes, procedures and standards including but not limited to large bonus processing and year-end reporting.
- Oversee bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Ensures that all deadlines are met including the processing and review of established audit reports and coordination with the Payroll Support Team for system maintenance and schedules.
- Enforces cut-off time for payroll processing.
- Reviews payroll protocols and procedures including but not limited to manual checks, on cycle payroll processing, and time clock records.
- Works with the Payroll Support Team on biweekly Processing Worksheets and SOX documents.
- Ensures appropriate backup documentation for biweekly payroll by the processing division.
- Trains and implements process improvements for the Payroll Coordinators.
- Recommends changes to create efficiencies and enhance performance of Payroll Department to Manager and/or Director.
- Develops and maintains close relationships and open communication with all areas of payroll and field locations.
- Performs random reviews for adherence to coordinator desk organization and maintenance with special emphasis on department standards, capturing metrics and providing feedback.
- Develops, researches, and maintains current knowledge of regulatory issues affecting Payroll.
Other duties as assigned:
- Develop designs, specifications, and cost estimates for various civil / structural projects that are required to meet the manufacturing needs facilities located throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. Including facility and heavy industrial equipment foundation structural design.
- Provide project and onsite construction management to ensure the requirements of the project are achieved.
- The position will require an in-depth working knowledge of current industrial facility construction practices; and a comprehensive technical understanding of applications for structural analysis / design in steel, concrete, and wood.
- The position also requires highly skilled competencies in technical written communications, oral presentations, customer interactions, teamwork collaborations, and leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- PE license
- In-depth working knowledge of heavy industrial facility construction practices.
- Comprehensive technical understanding of design applications for structural analysis / design in steel, concrete, and wood.
- Highly skilled competencies in technical written communications, oral presentations, customer interactions, teamwork collaborations, and leadership.
- Project / Construction Management
- AutoCAD
- Must be physically active; work in confined spaces.
- Must be willing to work in a dirty, hot, and very humid environment (Paper Mill).
- Must be able to climb ladders and not be afraid of heights.
Must have:
- Must have a minimum of 15 years’ experience.
- Must have project management experience.
- Must have industrial structural engineering experience.
- Must sit in Hartsville or relocate to Hartsville.
- Must have design experience.
