Position Overview:
The Construction Field/Project Engineer is responsible for managing daily project activities on-site, ensuring efficient coordination among laborers, and maintaining seamless operations. This role involves developing project documentation, managing quality assurance, and fostering effective communication across all involved parties.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Oversee daily on-site project activities and ensure smooth operations
- Develop, update, and manage project submittals, change orders, RFIs, schedules, and purchase orders
- Ensure compliance with contract documents and implement quality assurance and control measures
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality inspections and identify any deficiencies
- Manage necessary corrections and ensure adherence to quality standards
Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate and sequence all field activities, including material deliveries and special inspections
- Maintain positive relationships and effective communication with all project stakeholders, including suppliers, crew, general contractors, and internal teams
Site Management:
- Conduct site surveys and hold point inspections
- Maintain organized and detailed project records
Support and Assistance:
- Assist the project manager with contract administration and address any construction-related issues on-site
- Perform administrative duties, such as preparing daily construction reports, photo reports, sign-in sheets, and meeting notes, and updating documents in real-time
Technical Expertise:
- Apply actual construction experience and understanding of trade terms and references.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) proficiently
Experience and Skills:
- Experience in construction and a solid understanding of trade terms and references
- Ability to read and understand plans and blueprints
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Strong knowledge and experience working on concrete structures
