Our client, a global leader in the Ethanol and Biofuel industry, has a need for a Plant Manager.
Job Summary:
The Plant Manager for the ethanol production facility will be responsible for overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring efficient production, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of ethanol production processes, and a commitment to maintaining high safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations of the ethanol plant, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics.
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining product quality and minimizing downtime.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track productivity, efficiency, and safety metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance and reduce operational costs.
- Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors, engineers, and plant operators.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and performance excellence.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure that the plant complies with all applicable safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Maintain a safe working environment, promote safety awareness, and lead incident investigations when necessary.
- Stay informed on changes in industry regulations and implement compliance programs accordingly.
- Maintenance & Reliability:
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure the proper upkeep and reliability of plant equipment.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize unexpected breakdowns and costly repairs.
- Prepare and present operational reports, including productivity, cost analysis, and forecasting.
- Supply Chain & Inventory Management:
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and the shipment of finished products.
- Optimize inventory levels and minimize production disruptions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required
- Strong understanding of ethanol production processes, including fermentation, distillation, dehydration, and energy recovery systems.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce.
- Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, particularly those applicable to ethanol or chemical manufacturing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
