Director of Project Engineering – Utility Scale Solar and Substations/Switchgear
Leap29 are recruiting for a leader to be the Director of Project Engineering to spearhead our projects in substations and switchgear. If you have a track record of delivering complex utility scale solar projects with a strong focus on transmission and distribution on time and within budget, then this role may be the right match for you.
This position can be based in either New York or New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a high-performing team of project engineers, overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of substation and switchgear projects.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with organizational goals and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Drive innovation and efficiency in engineering processes, leveraging the latest technologies and best practices.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, contractors, and vendors to foster collaboration and ensure project success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior engineering management role within the substations or switchgear sector.
- Utility scale solar sector experience
- Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and industry standards.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successful stakeholder engagement.
