Our client is looking for A VP of Engineering & Detailing, in this role you'll drive the strategy with a hands-on approach, focusing on both strategic and operational aspects to ensure efficiency, quality, and scalability. You'll lead day-to-day operations, optimize engineering and detailing processes, and spearhead innovative projects while fostering a culture of excellence and sustainability. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Operations
- Develop and execute strategic plans to boost efficiency and quality.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to optimize operations.
- Utilize the ERP system and other sources of data to develop the master detailing and engineering schedule.
- Suggests solutions to capacity and scheduling challenges.
Team Leadership
- Provide visionary leadership to the engineering and detailing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Mentor and guide a team of engineering and detailing professionals to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- Lead the recruitment and development of top talent to ensure the team has the skills needed for current and future business demands.
- Monitor and analyzekey performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with various departments including sales, operations, project management, engineering/detailing, and manufacturing to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks.
- Align engineering and detailing strategies with overall business goals in collaboration with other senior leaders.
- Communicate any schedule changes to relevant departments and mitigate potential impacts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 15 years of leadership experience, preferably with a steel building manufacturer, including at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
- Proven track record in driving excellence, process improvement, and cost optimization.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate cross-functional teams, and build effective relationships at all organizational levels.
- Strategic thinker with the capability to develop and execute long-term strategies.
- Results-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality products and services.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced degree.
- Must possess mathematical aptitude with knowledge of Auto Cad. MBS experience a must have.
