The Easterly Snow Investment Team in Pittsburgh, PA, is looking for an Associate-level team member to support Senior Analysts and Portfolio Managers through all aspects of the investment process, including financial modeling and maintenance research.
The Easterly Snow Investment Team is responsible for all aspects of portfolio management and construction. Our process is fundamentally driven from the bottom up, with a heightened focus on cash flow and balance sheet integrity in companies that may be experiencing short-to-intermediate-term difficulties. The candidate should have natural intellectual curiosity and a passion for investing. The Team is looking for a candidate who is open to mentorship and training on Snow's time-tested investment process while leveraging and integrating skills from their own background.
A qualified candidate should have the following characteristics:
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in STEM or Finance related fields.
- CFA charter holder or a CFA candidate encouraged.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced level of excel proficiency is expected and required. Experience with Bloomberg, Eikon, or FactSet API interfaces a plus.
- The candidate should have natural intellectual curiosity and a passion for financial markets.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrated aptitude to learn quickly.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented attitude.
- Experience writing in a professional capacity.
- Experience manipulating large data sets via SQL
- Aptitude in programming languages such as R or Python a plus
An Associate Research Analyst will be asked to perform the following duties and assume the following responsibilities:
- Assist Research Analysts and Portfolio Managers in conducting research on existing and potential investments and industries.
- Perform fundamental analysis, modeling, and maintenance research on listed U.S. equities across numerous industries.
- Assume responsibility for administrative tasks within the research group including basic tasks related to internal databases, proxy voting, and marketing communications.
- Write client communications, presentations, and other documents for internal and external communication, including investment team meetings and marketing presentations.
