Job Duties
- Well rounded bench and floor inspection of a variety of standard or custom parts, products or materials
- Work with products that are produced in house or received from vendors
- Utilize different types of precision measuring instruments, including electronic devices.
- Checks the quality of color, finish, dimensions, hardness, density or other measurable or observable characteristics of material.
- Performs detailed first article inspections following the installation of new or revised molds and dies.
- Assist with create or update sampling and inspection procedures.
- Inspects and tests and incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials.
- Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments when necessary.
- Approves finished products by confirming passing of quality inspection
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
- Participates in the review and disposition of non-conforming material.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
- Aids in the training of new employees to ensure departmental policies and procedures are properly identified and met.
- Attends and reports at weekly meetings with the production manager and other cross functional departments.
- Participates in internal and/or external AS audits.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma is required
- 3+ years of quality assurance and inspection experience
- Has experience with AS9100 and understand AS9102
- Knowledge of how to properly prepare Hprepare reports
- Familiarity and understanding of geometric and dimensional tolerancing
- Understanding of general contracts, purchasing principles and policies
- Able to successfully perform under time constraints
- Capable of working with Microsoft Suite
