Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Manager to join our team at a leading meat manufacturing company based in Georgia. The FSQ Manager will oversee all aspects of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance for our production facility. This role is crucial to ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction while adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Food Safety Programs: Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the company’s food safety programs, including HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and SQF certifications.
- Quality Assurance Management: Ensure that all products meet company and customer specifications, including compliance with USDA, FDA, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Audits & Inspections: Prepare for and lead facility inspections by regulatory agencies and third-party auditors. Implement corrective actions to address any non-conformities.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the Quality Assurance team, providing training and support to ensure alignment with food safety and quality initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance food safety and quality processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
- Supplier Management: Collaborate with procurement to ensure suppliers meet company standards for food safety and quality. Conduct supplier audits as needed.
- Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze production data, microbiological test results, and customer complaints to identify trends and take corrective/preventive actions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with changes to food safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance, preferably in the meat processing industry.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, USDA, FDA, and GFSI regulations.
- Experience managing third-party audits and regulatory inspections.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across departments.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset for continuous improvement.
- Certification in HACCP and SQF is highly preferred.
