My client is an established MedTech company that's starting a greenfield project developing a computer vision-powered surgical assistance solution.
They are looking for two Principle Test Engineers to join their engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automated Testing: Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for robotic systems, with a strong emphasis on Python. This includes writing and executing tests that validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of software and hardware components.
- Embedded Systems Testing: Collaborate with the firmware and hardware teams to ensure that embedded systems are thoroughly tested. This involves understanding the intricacies of the embedded systems in use and designing appropriate test cases.
- CI/CD Pipeline Integration: Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring that tests are executed as part of the continuous integration process. Work with the DevOps team to improve and maintain the CI/CD infrastructure.
- ISO13485 Compliance: Apply ISO13485 standards in testing processes. Develop and execute test plans that meet these standards, ensuring that all regulatory and quality requirements are adhered to.
- Test Planning: Design and implement comprehensive test plans, ensuring complete coverage of system functionality and performance. Review and refine test strategies based on project requirements and risks.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects throughout the testing process. Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues and improve system quality.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior test engineers. Lead by example in adopting best practices and driving continuous improvement within the testing team.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python: Demonstrated expertise in Python within an automated testing environment.
- Embedded Systems Knowledge: Strong understanding of embedded systems, sufficient to design and execute relevant test cases.
- CI/CD Expertise: Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes.
- Medical Device Standards: Experience applying medical device standards in testing.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and identify root causes of issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
