What you’ll do as the Account Manager - Employee Benefits:
- Foster and manage overall relationships with clients ensuring retention of mid-market book of business and high satisfaction
- Review client team’s RFPs
- Select markets for solicitation
- Analyze market proposals for verification of benefits, premiums, and competitiveness
- Review coverage contracts for the accuracy of policy provisions
- Meet with clients for pre-renewal strategy, proposal delivery, and explanation
- Conduct client open enrollment meetings and answer questions regarding benefit coverage
- Negotiate with markets for benefits and premium concessions
- Ensure that the client team handles client benefit inquiries and manages a team to effectively service clients
- Manage new carrier and plan implementations for the book of business
- Ensure the team prepares claims experience and utilization reports and reviews for accuracy
- React, process, and follow up on new business
- Collection of fees, reconciliation, and resolution of any outstanding balances within 60 days of the invoicing date
- Comply with agency management system data standards and data integrity
What you’ll bring to the Account Manager - Employee Benefits role:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role at an insurance brokerage, managing group benefits for 200-1,000 groups or larger, preferred experience with self-funded plans.
- Valid life and health insurance license
- Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills, including telephone and listening skills
- Good leadership, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize work for multiple projects and deadlines
