We’re seeking a talented and self-driven Associate General Counsel to join our legal team and help guide our growing business.
Job Overview
As the Associate General Counsel, you will provide essential legal support to ensure compliance, protect intellectual property, and assist in strategic initiatives. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to navigate the complex legal landscape of a global tech company and ensure that our home audio solutions and products meet regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide counsel on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters, employment law, litigation, and risk management, with a focus on contracts, intellectual property, and compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, such as supplier, partnership, and licensing contracts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and marketing, to ensure all operations comply with applicable laws.
- Assist in the management of intellectual property, including patents and trademarks for Linkplay’s proprietary technology and WiiM products.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments in product liability, data privacy, and international trade as they relate to IoT and audio technology.
- Develop and implement company-wide legal policies to reduce risk and streamline operations.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Member in good standing of a U.S. state bar.
- 5 years of relevant legal experience, ideally in a technology or consumer electronics environment.
- Experience with intellectual property law, contract negotiation, and corporate governance is preferable.
- Hands on litigation experience in federal court is highly preferable.
- Knowledge of international compliance standards, particularly related to consumer electronics and smart home products is preferable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear guidance for non-legal teams.
