Adelphi is seeking a psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services -routine and emergency at facilities in south central Kentucky. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of psychopharmacology and psychiatric chemotherapy. Provide in-patient psychiatric treatment to residents/patients Make recommendations for the treatment of behavioral or psychiatric disorder. Make electronic entries in patient medical record. Comply with all applicable Federal Regulations, as well as Department and Facility Policies and Procedures. Provide assistance to the physician(s) with both routine and emergency procedures. Provide specialized services in the fields of psychopharmacology and psychiatric chemotherapy as requested Provide written notations for Medicare and/or Medicaid as well as telephone interviews with private insurance companies as needed. Document treatment provided and tests administered in appropriate formats on required forms on each visit to the facility. Participate in incident review meetings, clinical staff meetings, respite and annual individual habilitation plan team meetings and any other pertinent staff meeting. Consult as necessary with resident families in regard to the medical or psychiatric care when necessary or requested. Ensure availability to staff by telephone, voice mail, e-mail, pager and intra-facility mail, as necessary. Ensure completion of continuing medical education as mandated by the American Medical Association, for the life of this contract. Participate in the quality initiatives of the facility, as needed Provide on-call services weekdays, 52 weeks per year; weekends / holidays, and for vacation coverage, if needed.
