My client is a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) company that plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between sales and technical teams, ensuring that the solutions offered align with the customer’s needs. They are looking for someone who can navigate the waters as an IT SME while selling the concept of staffing to their clients.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Needs Assessment
- Engage with Clients: Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, business challenges, and technology environments.
- Conduct Needs Analysis: Analyze and assess customer needs to identify opportunities where the company’s products and services can add value.
Solution Design and Architecture
- Develop Technical Proposals: Create customized solutions that meet the specific needs of the customer, including hardware, software, and services.
- Create Detailed Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation outlining proposed solutions, including specifications, diagrams, and configurations.
Proposal Development
- Respond to RFPs/RFIs: Provide detailed technical responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring alignment with customer specifications.
- Create Proposals: Develop detailed technical proposals that clearly outline the proposed solution, including costs, timelines, and expected outcomes.
- Customize Proposals: Tailor proposals to meet the unique needs of each client, highlighting how the solution addresses specific pain points.
Technical Consultation
- Technical Advisor: Act as the technical point of contact for customers throughout the sales process, addressing technical queries and concerns.
- Vendor Liaison: Coordinate with technology vendors and partners to obtain the necessary technical resources, support, and pricing information.
- Solution Validation: Validate the feasibility and scalability of proposed solutions in alignment with customer needs and industry best practices.
Collaboration with Sales and Engineering Teams
- Sales Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to align on sales strategies, helping to translate technical features into business benefits that resonate with customers.
- Engineering Coordination: Interface with engineering teams to ensure that the proposed solutions are technically sound and can be delivered within the specified timeframe and budget.
- Feedback Loop: Provide feedback from customers and sales engagements to product development teams to help shape future product offerings.
Competitive Analysis
- Market Research: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies to ensure the company’s offerings remain competitive.
- Competitor Comparison: Analyze competitor solutions and articulate the advantages of the company’s products in relation to competitors.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, networking, security, and other relevant technologies.
- Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
