JOB DECRIPTION
Our client is looking to fill an Underwriting Processing Support position in their Indianapolis, IN office.
Provides support pertaining to entering, maintaining, processing and the issuance of insurance or insurance-related documents. May perform duties related to office technology, and or the work of the department. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process Driver Score and MVR requests.
- Process Workers Comp Mod and Merit ratings, this entails working on spreadsheets, processing endorsements and creating tasks in the underwriting workstation. Download and screen NCCI worksheets. Download CRIT reports, check rating bureau website for needed information in order to clear the criticisms
- Produce various forms, reports and correspondence, such as the monthly New Business Log and Loss Run notices. Proofreads typed material to ensure a quality product. Identifies errors and omissions in materials and expedites resolution. Be proficient in all Microsoft office products.
- Receive, open, sort and distribute all USPS mail and faxes. Process out-going mail, including certified mail. Match certificates of mailings with cancellation notices and import into CLAS under the appropriate policy number. Maintain and update the postage mail meter. Log any premium checks sent here in error and forward to correct location.
- Share in answering phone call inquiries from insureds, providers and agents.
- Locate, pull and maintain underwriting files. Perform underwriting file room support, including the annual underwriting file room purge.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college preferred
- 0-2 years of filing, data entry, word processing or typing.
- Must be proficient with a variety of Microsoft Office software including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and agents/insureds.
- High level of organizational skills.
