The CEO will set and maintain an organizational vision and strategy using strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to further the organization’s mission. - Collaborative/Cultural Leadership: Understand membership and their participation and gather feedback to develop and implement programs and services that drive engagement and growth.
- Industry Awareness: Attend and actively participate in all industry events to learn, assess, and determine opportunities to drive greater participation and value.
- Relationship Cultivation: Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and decision-makers both inside and outside of the organization.
- Industry Representation: Emerge as a distinguished representative, actively participating in events and forums. Advocate for the industry by educating members, consumers, and local government staff and elected officials. Government Affairs representation is one of the vital member services.
- Servant Leadership: Lead, develop, and inspire the staff and volunteers to drive success. Develop manageable workloads, implement ambitious goals, set clear expectations, outline professional development plans, and provide tools and resources necessary to reach organizational objectives.
- Operations, Finance, and Accountability: Ensure day-to-day activities are conducted and goals achieved as stated in business plans and associated budgets. Maintain and increase membership and non-dues revenue to sustain organization’s goal to not be dependent on member dues revenue for the development and growth of programs and services.
- Governance: Engage the Board collaboratively and productively and promote rigorous board-management discussion to solve key challenges and realize the organization’s mission.
