Our mid-sized client has locations in the Bay area and Austin and is seeking a senior FPGA design engineer who is also contribute to some board level design. The position can be based out of either their south Bay or Austin locations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement FPGA designs using HDL (VHDL/Verilog)
- Contribute to the design and layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs), including schematic capture, component selection, and signal integrity analysis.
- Work on the integration of FPGA designs with other system components, including processors, memory, and peripheral interfaces.
- Perform functional simulation and timing analysis of FPGA designs using industry-standard tools like ModelSim, Vivado, or Quartus. Develop and execute test plans to ensure the design meets all specifications.
- Collaborate with software engineers to develop and integrate firmware that interfaces with FPGA designs.
- Participate in the prototyping, testing, and debugging of FPGA designs and board-level circuits, using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators.
- Generate and maintain design documentation, including block diagrams, design specifications, test plans, and user guides.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration of designs into larger systems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest FPGA technologies, tools, and methodologies, and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes.
