Optomi, in partnership with a leading organization in the insurance industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer for a hybrid position located in Hartford, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in .NET technologies, API-based system orchestration, and experience working in both Azure and on-premises environments. This individual must be comfortable working in a highly dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment, establishing new patterns and designs. This role will be backend-focused, but the ideal candidate should be capable of handling frontend tasks, specifically with Angular, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance backend components in a C#/.NET environment.
- Implement API-based integrations and orchestration between systems.
- Query, manipulate, and analyze data using SQL and JSON.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with business needs.
- Eventually contribute to UI development using Angular for frontend tasks.
- Work with Azure and on-prem technologies to deliver robust solutions.
- Contribute to the development of MarketMax, an agency-facing platform designed to identify new business opportunities for small commercial and E&S business lines.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET.
- Experience with Angular for frontend development (preferred).
- Hands-on experience in Azure cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
- Proven ability to navigate and succeed in ambiguous environments, developing new patterns and solutions.
- Experience working with complex SQL queries and JSON manipulation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
