Our esteemed client in Salem County, New Jersey is seeking a Master Scheduler with a background in Food & Beverage Manufacturing to join there organization. Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Master Scheduler will be responsible for developing and executing the daily and weekly production plans across all production lines. This role will require active collaboration with various departments, including sales, marketing, operations, and production, to ensure an efficient and flexible production schedule aligned with demand forecasts, capacity, and labor plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and adjust the daily and weekly production plans based on open production orders, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts.
- Coordinate Weekly Capacity & Labor Plans within the scheduling team and communicate potential risks or exposure to management and key stakeholders.
- Actively participate in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to build and align a 3-month production forecast by brand and product group, incorporating input from the sales and marketing teams.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales to ensure new product launch volumes are accurately planned, and promptly adjust forecasts based on early-life sales data, especially for high-value or high-variance SKUs.
- Track and maintain the accuracy scorecard for planned versus actual production, providing insights and explanations for production shortfalls or overachievement.
- Communicate production constraints or delays to all relevant departments, including sales, operations, and production teams.
- Maintain post-production reporting, managing yield adjustment percentages for grinds and cuts, and providing timely data to stakeholders.
- Co-manage the Microwave and Transfer to Cooler (TTC) schedules, ensuring the efficient flow of products.
- Make logical, data-driven decisions in response to a rapidly changing production environment.
- Perform basic math calculations, such as yield calculations, to ensure accuracy in planning and reporting.
- Work cross-functionally with supply and production teams to ensure production plans are aligned with realistic forecast trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, within scope and ability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent experience in the Food & Beverage Manufacturing industry.
- 3+ years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or supply chain management, with expertise in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate across departments and organizational levels.
- Proven experience in continuous improvement, with the ability to research and develop solutions to complex scheduling challenges.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and production planning (advanced knowledge required).
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems; experience with Power BI and production planning modules (e.g., Demand Solutions, Logility) is preferred.
- Strong ability to produce ad-hoc reporting based on production data and scheduling requirements.
- Analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and present data to various stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and quick decision-making skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally across departments.
