We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to work full time for our client in Windsor, CT. Candidates will have experience with digital and analog circuits, electrical engineering and CAD design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Mentors' junior engineers in all aspects of their daily work.
* Identifies learning opportunities for less experienced engineers.
* Reviews work products of junior engineers as required.
* Expert use of all typical electronic lab equip. (Oscilloscopes, DVM's, capacitance/inductance meters, I2C monitors, etc.)
* Develops circuit, component, subsystem, and equipment interfaces and procurement specifications.
* Perform resolution of anomalies identified during production manufacturing and test; as well as during customer deployment.
* Designs digital, analog circuits, components, and subsystems.
* Prepares designs specifications, analyses, and recommendations.
* Performs circuit interconnection or subsystem prototype assembly.
* Prepares design and operation objectives, specifications, and resource needs.
* Recommends test control, strategies, apparatus, and equipment.
* Supports the interfaces with customers, contractors, and marketing vendors.
* Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
* Conduct in-house design reviews and technical meetings.
* Prepares design proposal to reflect cost, schedule, and technical approaches.
* Monitors project status and progress.
* Manages personal schedule for electrical engineering tasks.
* Keeps abreast of improvements in electronic engineering techniques.
* Maintains existing electrical network infrastructure.
* Supports production area with regards to production toolsets, networks and processes.
Education, Work Experience and/or Skill Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering with 4-5 years' experience or an applicable Master's of Science degree.
* Experience in designing, developing, and testing embedded systems hardware that support Linux and Android OS's.
* Computer literate and strong skills using PCB design CAD software (OrCAD, PADS).
* Good understanding of basic DC power supply topologies, switching (Buck, Boost, SEPIC, Flyback), linear LDO. Experience implementing electrical circuits. Strong understanding of Network protocols and their implementation in embedded systems.
* Ability to choose parts and derive circuit values from voltage current, size, and cost requirements.
* Knowledge of customer needs and competing products.
* Experience with Biometric support systems such as fingerprint readers, facial recognition, etc.
