This role is responsible for providing comprehensive analytical, reporting, and budgeting support to asset management and operational functions. The individual will assist in all budgeting and forecasting activities, conduct research and analysis, and make recommendations to help achieve key financial goals. The role includes developing and managing procedures based on data analysis, and preparing concise reports and communications for senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to meet company objectives. Support the update and maintenance of budgeting-related policies.
- Budgeting and Capital Planning: Oversee the planning, preparation, and distribution of operational forecasts and projections on a monthly or quarterly basis. Support the annual property budgeting process and enhance budgeting tools. Provide analytical support during budget reviews and maintain a long-term capital projects schedule.
- Asset Analysis: Analyze property performance, identify significant budget variances, and investigate their causes. Conduct cost/benefit and breakeven analyses to evaluate asset performance.
- Expense Analysis and Recommendations: Review and compare operating expenses across the portfolio, identify best practices, and assist in resolving expense issues. Analyze utility billing performance indicators and address billing discrepancies.
- Reporting: Collaborate with IT and/or vendors to create special reports for operational management and decision-making. Serve as the primary contact for testing and validating new reports to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, finance, underwriting, or data analytics.
- Real Estate industry experience required
- Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance.
