Job Title: System Administrator
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Duration: 6+ month contract (potential extension/renewal)
Pay Rate: $45-55/hr. (Based on Experience)
Summary:
Verigent's client is seeking an experienced System Administrator, specializing in VMware and server virtualization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in migrating physical servers to virtual environments and managing storage arrays.
Responsibilities:
• Manage, maintain, and support VMware infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of virtualized environments.
• Assist with migration of physical servers to virtual platforms using VMware or other industry-standard virtualization technologies.
• Perform system performance tuning and monitoring to ensure uptime and availability of critical systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to server performance, storage arrays, and virtual environments.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of virtualized infrastructure into overall system architecture.
Qualifications:
• 3-5+ years of experience in systems administration with a focus on VMware and virtual environments.
• Proven experience in migrating physical servers to virtual environments.
• Working knowledge of storage arrays, including setup, configuration, and management.
• Experience in system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with server operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
