SkyBridge Luxury & Associates has partnered with a prestigious luxury resort to find an experienced and skilled Director of Engineering with a strong background in resort operations. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the engineering team at a world-class resort known for its exceptional service and stunning surroundings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations across the resort, ensuring that all facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, providing direction, training, and development to maintain a high level of service and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with other department heads to ensure seamless coordination of maintenance and engineering activities across the resort.
- Maintenance & Operations:
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all resort facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and recreational amenities.
- Ensure that all engineering projects, renovations, and repairs are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Manage the resort's energy management and sustainability programs, seeking innovative solutions to reduce energy consumption and enhance environmental stewardship.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure that all engineering and maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Oversee the resort's emergency response procedures, including fire safety, disaster preparedness, and crisis management.
- Budgeting & Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the engineering department's annual budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining the highest levels of service and quality.
- Monitor and control expenses, including labor, materials, and capital projects, ensuring that all expenditures are aligned with the resort's financial goals.
- Provide regular reports on engineering activities, performance metrics, and budget status to the General Manager and executive team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in engineering management, with a strong background in luxury resorts or hospitality environments.
- Proven experience in leading large teams and managing complex engineering projects in a resort setting.
- Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, energy management, and sustainability practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in computer-aided facility management (CAFM) software and other relevant technology.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the resort’s operational needs.
