Job Overview:
As a Southwest Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving sales initiatives in the Southwest region, with a primary focus on managing the existing Texas sales team. Additionally, you will temporarily oversee the Washington sales team to ensure continuity and alignment with company objectives. Your role will involve developing and implementing sales strategies, leading a team of sales representatives, building strong relationships with key clients, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. A key component of your role will also include active recruitment initiatives to ensure the sales teams are staffed with top talent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Sales Strategies: Create and execute effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base in the Southwest region, with a focus on Texas.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the Texas sales team, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their performance and professional growth.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients in both Texas and Washington, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats in the Southwest and Washington regions. Provide insights and recommendations to the Regional Sales Director.
- Sales Forecasting: Prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports, monitor sales performance, and adjust strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to align sales strategies with company goals and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the sales budget for the Southwest region, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
- Active Recruitment Initiatives: Proactively recruit, interview, and hire top talent for the sales teams in the Southwest and Washington regions. Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain high-performing sales professionals.
- Travel: Travel within the Southwest region and to Washington as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support the sales team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager or in a similar role within the industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel within the Southwest region and to Washington as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field.
- Experience in the [specific industry or sector] is a plus.
- Knowledge of the Southwest and Washington market dynamics and key players.
