Role: Site Safety for RNG facility located on Long Island, New York
The Site Safety Officer is responsible for managing all safety and occupational health aspects of assigned sites and project employees. Additionally, this position works with the Safety Manager to develop and manage company-wide Health and Safety programs, including safety programs for other subsidiaries in the client line.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Responsible for overall management in implementation of project safety programs and have the authority to act in all safety matters for client =.
• Direct inspections and audit site safety programs, initiate corrective actions based on review of data or customer input.
• Ensure that procedures and processes initiated and performed by project employees are done in accordance with safety procedures.
• Coordinate and lead project site safety meetings.
• Organize and maintain safety documentation for project team and provide appropriately to the client.
• Participate in the hiring and performance review process of Site Safety and Health Officers.
• Provide HSE support for company-wide projects.
• Develop and maintain HSE data for routine HSE reports and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate audits of contractor HSE performance and policies.
• Provided training for employees on company procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Ensure that training is kept up-to-date and properly recorded for all operations personnel.
• Assist with development, updates, and enforcement of a Project-Specific Accident Prevention Plan throughout the duration of the project (subject to client approval).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations and standards for employee health and safety and ability to implement at a project site.
• Knowledge of standard safety equipment used in construction occupations.
• Effective professional communication and interpersonal skills with regard to internal and external written, graphical, and verbal communications, and presentations.
