Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Litigation Paralegal:
- Assists attorneys in all stages of commercial finance transactions, including drafting and reviewing documentation, conducting due diligence, and managing closings.
- Prepares and files Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) financing statements and amendments, and handles post-closing matters.
- Conducts legal research and analysis related to commercial finance, secured transactions, and other relevant areas of law.
- Organizes and maintains transaction documents, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Coordinates communication between clients, lenders, and other parties involved in transactions.
- Supports the team with administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, managing deadlines, and preparing closing checklists.
- Assists with the preparation of transaction summaries and other reports for internal and client use.
Qualifications of the Commercial Litigation Paralegal:
- A Bachelor's degree and Paralegal certification are required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department, with a focus on commercial finance.
- Strong understanding of commercial finance transactions, UCC filings, and other related legal processes.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal research tools, and document management systems.
