The role of a Nurse (RN/LPN) requires a High School diploma or equivalent- Possession of a valid current Oklahoma license as a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing to practice nursing and at least two (2) years of professional nursing experience, including one year in a specialized area of nursing, appropriate for the health care setting; or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and one year relevant experience working with children in another capacity.
The starting hourly rate for a Registered Nurse is $37.00
Evening shift differential: $1.00
Overnight shift differential: $2.00
The starting hourly rate for a Licensed Practical Nurse is $ 28.00
Evening shift differential: $0.50
Overnight shift differential: $1.00

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Provides professional nursing services and assumes responsibility for the direct care of assigned consumers, experiencing trauma related adjustment problem(s), emotional disorder(s), psychiatric illness or substance abuse.
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices and techniques; medical supplies, sanitation, personal hygiene and life safety policies, procedures, principles and practices; nutrition and diet therapy; principles and methods of teaching; nursing standards for institutional certification; departmental procedures; pediatric psychiatry and human resources principles and methods.
Skill in developing, planning and administering an effective nursing care program and consumers and in training subordinate personnel.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assumes responsibility for consumer's ages 10-17 admitted to the CALM Center.
Upon admission, determines and allocates the type and amount of care required to satisfy the needs of each consumer.
Ensures the effectiveness of care provided through maintenance and review of clinical charts.
Observes consumer's symptoms and reports on the conditions of pediatric consumers, notifies physician if condition warrants.
Intervenes in crisis situations, utilizing verbal intervention effectively and physical interventions as needed, articulating to the consumer the justification for use of limit setting, seclusion or restraint.
Monitors and evaluates all consumers in seclusion and/or restraint to ensure least restrictive measures and adherence to Center policy.
Administers medications and treatments per physician's orders.
May assist or facilitate the admission, discharge or transfer of pediatric consumers; May orient and inform the family and/or the consumer of the general care plan and Center's procedures and routine.
Audit charts for documentation to be updated.
Assist physician on daily rounds.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor or Unit Director.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to move from location to location, bending, stooping, lifting 25 pounds, communicate clearly, prepare written communications, present information to other employees, process complex information within established procedures/programs, enter data to various programs. Must be able to climb stairs and access non-handicapped equipped residences/facilities.
