The National Design Consultant is a position that is critical to the overall success of the organization. National offers a diverse portfolio of products (wallcovering, acoustical, dry erase, upholstery, digital, wood solutions and specialty) to address a wide variety of interior and exterior applications. Specific responsibilities include daily sales calls on existing customers and prospective new accounts including architects, interior designers, facility managers and contractors.
Responsibilities
- · Establish new clients within the hospitality, architectural and interior design communities.
- · Service existing clients within the architectural and interior design communities.
- · Conduct customer needs analysis; create solutions within customer’s budget.
- · Develop & deliver sales presentations to clients in a professional & effective manner by:
- Creating design presentations for potential customers, maintaining up-to-date awareness of company
activities, industry trends & government regulations.
- · Maintain all sales demonstration tools & applications.
- · Close sales
- · Conduct customer follow-up activities as necessary to ensure continued customer business.
- · Identify new projects through various sources including research, networking, cold-calling and develop
solid relationships with current clients.
- · Collaborate with internal and external resources to help keep focus on sales.
- · Become an expert on the products you represent.
- · Maintain a sample request level of no less than 50 per month.
- · Identify and participate in local industry organizations and events.
- · Update new products and remove discontinued items during sales calls.
Other Job Duties:
· Document and submit expense reports in a timely manner.
· Keep vehicle clean and presentable for client outings.
· Ability to operate in company computer systems.
Qualifications
[1-3 years previous sales experience
Design background – Commercial interior product industry.
B.S. degree in interior design or architecture
Relationship building with internal & external customers.
Excellent oral & written communications skills
Excellent customer relation skills
Strong problem solving / analytical skills.
Accuracy & attention to detail
Multi-task oriented
PC Literate – Word, Excel, E-Mail, Internet
Skill & ability to organize & prioritize work & to meet deadlines.
Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
Ability to travel sales territory for sales/client meetings
Ability to grow sales & meet pre-established sales goals.
Valid Driver’s License/ Proof of current insurance
