* 1+ year of experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting preferred but not required
* Experience and proficiency in using an electronic medical record (EMR)
*Responsibilities Include:*
* Administration of direct patient care under the supervision of a physical therapist
* Observe patients before, during, and after therapy, noting the patient’s status and reporting it to a physical therapist
* Use devices and equipment, such as walkers, to help patients
* Educate patients and family members about what to do after treatment
* Submits required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the department.
* Participates in quality improvement chart reviews and activities.
* Performs related duties, as required.
*Required Experience & Qualifications:*
* Associate’s Degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited college, required.
* Must be currently certified and registered as Physical Therapy Assistant in New York State
* Or must have a valid permit and become certified and registered within one (1) year of employment.
* Previous outpatient experience preferred.
