CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) Search has been retained by Optima Machinery Corporation for their Pharma Division to identify a Technical Trainer to serve their team. With locations and customers all over the world, Optima Machinery Corporation designs and builds packaging and filling machines including complete production lines for pharmaceutical, consumer, nonwovens and life science products.
The Technical Trainer will design, develop, and deliver technical training programs and materials to employees or clients. This role requires a deep understanding of technical subjects, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable lessons.
This position includes supervisory responsibilities for Training Specialists and future members of the training team. The role operates in a hybrid model, combining professional office settings with home office environments. Occasional on-site visits to customer locations are required, which may involve entering clean room environments. The travel requirement is estimated to be less than 50% during weekdays, with some initial weekend travel necessary for training purposes. Travel will be required throughout North America and periodically to OPTIMA's headquarters in Germany.

What You’ll Do:
- Training Program Development: The Technical Trainer designs and develops technical training programs and materials, tailoring content to meet specific audience needs and staying current with industry trends.
- Training Delivery and Assessment: The role includes conducting training sessions, using various teaching methods, assessing training effectiveness, and continuously improving programs based on feedback.
- Curriculum Management: The trainer must maintain and update training materials, collaborate with subject matter experts, and manage training schedules and logistics.
- Technical Support and Collaboration: Providing technical support during and after training sessions, addressing technical questions, and working closely with other departments to understand training needs are key responsibilities
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA CTT+, Microsoft Certified Trainer) are a plus.
- Certified Professional (CPLP)
- Proven experience as a Training Specialist, Instructor, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with various technologies and tools relevant to the training topics.
- Experience in developing training materials and curricula.
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in using training software and tools (e.g., LMS, video conferencing tools, eLearning platforms).
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and levels of understanding.
