Department Summary:
The mission of N141 is to enable the AF/DoD to deploy capabilities that can withstand adversary cyber effects, and aggressively defend our nation’s critical weapon systems and infrastructure against cyber asymmetric warfare. Our Crypto and Trusted Systems Engineering team provides critical mission assurance by developing cryptographic and resilient solutions for the warfighter while our Resilient Engineering groups focus on ensuring our weapons systems and infrastructure can “fight through” the evolving and persistent cyber threat via a combination of cyber security, resilient design, and enhanced cyber situational awareness.
Our Department’s work program is central to the cyber resilience of DoD missions and integral to the activities of the other MITRE portfolios. In partnership, our goal is to ensure Cyberspace Superiority and ensure Joint Forces can achieve their missions in a contested cyberspace environment

Basic Qualifications:
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Experience with high-assurance cryptographic solutions.
Applied knowledge of Systems Engineering and system security engineering.
Understanding of encryption processes, algorithms, and standards.
Understanding of device certification standards and processes.
Awareness of DoD acquisition processes and information assurance requirements.
Must have demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, PC, presentation, and communications skills.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site
Preferred Qualifications:
Top Secret Clearance
Familiarity with the DOD acquisition process and Information Assurance requirements.
Possess strong analytical and modeling skills, to include Digital Engineering.
Proven understanding of terrestrial, airborne and satellite communication systems and their effects on cryptographic algorithm and mode selection.
5+ years’ experience in crypto systems with emphasis on development/certification
Knowledge of AF missions and major weapons systems
Experience engaging at the director+ level within MITRE
Track record of innovative thinking
