The Advanced Field Service Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide service and support for the highly technical products. These include drives and drive systems, PLCs, SCADA packages, and discrete loop controllers. Because of our focus on families and the proximity of our customers, travel is much lower than similar roles at other companies. Local (WI) field or remote work is expected up to 60% of the time, overnight travel <25%.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities Consistent delivery of a positive customer experience as evident through customer request for your specific service and top scores on customer surveys
- Responsible for performing field service, field calibration, systems/drives repairs and other necessary services to support the life cycle of the drives, drives systems and controls systems.
- Provide troubleshooting, service and support for jobs including discrete controllers, PLC, or SCADA systems, both in the shop and at a customer site.
- Smaller sized engineering projects.
- Capable of leading the training classes offered to customers of clients in their area of expertise.
- Accountable to committed tasks.
- Shared on-call duty for weekends (5-6x per year)

- Preferred Qualifications: Education Associates orBA/BS Degree
- Experience and/or Training 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with highly technical products, field service/engineering experience. Knowledge of mechanical components of control systems. Strong Communication skills (listening, questioning, speaking), Time Management skills. The Advanced Field Service Tech should have a familiarity with all of the following technologies and have, or develop, a proficiency in: Drives and Controls Systems, especially Parker Hannifin drives, Communication Protocols {i.e., DeviceNet and Modbus}. Develop an expertise in one of the following areas: PLC Control (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) , AC/DC Drive Control, SCADA systems. Web handling applications such as paper converting, plastic extrusion or rewinding.
- Licenses/Certificates: A valid driver’s license, insurance and a reliable automobile are requirements of this role.
