Job Description:
The modernization program is underway targeting the most critical business systems across the firm; to support these efforts, IT Product Modernization is seeking to expand our team of business systems analysts to surface the current state of our equities Clearance &Settlement applications, partner with product management to challenge this, and document resulting business-centric and future-proof target state requirements that are fed to delivery teams for execution.
The Senior Business Systems Analyst role specializes in acting as the main interface between Technology and Clearance and Settlement business/product areas, identifying, documenting and analyzing business requirements, and crafting functional specifications for the project’s development teams.
We are looking for an experienced, energetic and technology-minded Business Systems Analyst to join our team, with primary responsibilities:
• Produce functional specifications by analyzing business requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams.
• Lead workflow design and contribute to user experience design, where applicable
• Collaborate with project team, product management, and collaborators on assigned aspects of the project.
• Review estimates of resource needs and schedule of work with related collaborators.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members by elaborating the necessary details required through all phases of projects.
• Participate in creating system documentation under company-specific best practices and standards.
• Recommend controls by identifying gaps and proposing opportunities for automation of processes.
• Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk.
Talents Needed for Success:
• 6+ years of IT experience as a Senior Business Systems Analyst.
• Familiarity with diverse technologies and platforms
• Familiarity with Agile techniques and tools - Scrum, Kanban, Jira, etc.
• Solid experience in writing SQL queries – comfortable with unions, and inner and outer joins.
• Basic Excel manipulations, pivot, lookup, if/else if, substring manipulations, etc.
• Work with multiple Collaborators to assemble functional requirements.
• When applicable, create documents for customers and/or provide information for others to document.
• Familiarity with securities processing a plus.
• Familiarity with Z/OS a plus.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Business Process Management and Modeling.
- Analyzes business processes and derives functional requirements.
- Designs functional processes by analyzing requirements, constructing workflow charts and diagrams Data Modeling.
- Creates conceptual, logical and physical data model structures.
- Describes data attributes.
- Understands data relationships and dependency rules Graphical User Interface Design and Usability Integration of Business functions and services.
- Assists in the development of Test scripts.
- Ensures functional accuracy through the peer review process.
- Participates in aspects of SIT execution and defect reviews; supports user acceptance testing Process automation.
- Recommends controls by identifying gaps and designing solutions to automate manual processes Provides process methodology support for their team members and projects
- Awareness of Security and Privacy Risks Company best practices, standards and regulations
- Adheres to standards (ex: ISO messaging standards option; IOSCO principles compliance)
- Recommends and promotes solutions that support best practices
- Contributes and supports functional best practices in the department
- Maintains system documentation

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in IT (1 year of experience in application development and/or testing)
