The School-Based Mental Health Therapist is responsible for conducting screening, evaluation, assessment, and treatment to children within the school setting who are in need of services. Persons in this position will conduct diagnostic assessments and provide individual therapy. They must work closely with other clinical staff and community agencies. A working knowledge of practical application of supportive therapeutic approaches and family dynamics is required. They may be required to attend and participate in meetings on behalf of the company and client.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess strengths, weaknesses, and presenting problems through completion of assessment tools and intake screening interview
Uses assessment information to formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan
Provide individual and family therapy
Communicate with supervisor, physician and other treatment staff regarding observations and treatment interventions
Complete necessary documentation in accordance with service records requirements, Medicaid guidelines, and other insurance requirements.
Creates, reviews, and modifies crisis plan as needed
Monitors, evaluates and records clients progress according to treatment plan
QUALIFICATIONS
A Masters Degree in a human service field (social work, psychology, counseling) and licensure in the state of North Carolina is required (associate level or fully licensed)
. LCSW, LCSWA, LCMHC, LCMHCA, LMFT, LMFTA licensure in the state of North Carolina required
